Elyon Family Clinic & Surgery

Elyon Family Clinic & Surgery is a family medicine and men’s health clinic in Singapore with a niche interest in infectious diseases and andrology (male health). We offer primary care for patients of all ages, including seniors, adults, children, and infants. In family medicine, all members of the family may receive medical care from the same doctor.

Sexual Health Services

Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STDs) are infections or diseases that are transmitted between individuals through sexual activities, such as oral, vaginal, or anal sex. Contracting an STD leads to a higher risk of getting HIV, which, when left untreated, can progress to AIDS. To prevent the contracting or transmission of STD and HIV, using condoms, choosing less risky sexual habits, and conducting regular STD/HIV tests are quintessential.

Here are the range of sexual health services that we provide at Elyon Clinic:

STD/HIV

HIV exposure could be occupational or, more commonly, sexual. We offer a wide range of specialised HIV testing and screening, depending on the individual’s duration of exposure.

Sexual exposure refers to any form of sexual contact, for example, oral, vaginal, or anal intercourse, with a high-risk partner, such as a commercial sex worker or individuals with risky sexual behaviour.

The use of barrier protection methods, such as condoms, can reduce your risk of contracting HIV significantly. However, it is not 100% foolproof. There is always the risk of contracting HIV when there is mucosal contact with HIV-contaminated blood or semen. Tiny tears or cuts in the skin increase your risk of HIV transmission.

STD screenings and testing go a long way in maintaining your quality of life. We offer individualised advice on screenings based on the individual’s unique needs. On top of that, we also offer comprehensive treatments and close follow-ups to ensure complete eradication of the STD, if possible. Please consult our doctors for assessment and advice.

HIV post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is a medicative course that can significantly reduce your risk of contracting HIV after a possible exposure. However, the course must be started within 72 hours of possible exposure.

In the event that you suspect you might be exposed to HIV, consult our doctors immediately. HIV PEP consists of a combination of a minimum of three antiretroviral drugs to suppress the HIV virus completely, stopping the progression of the disease. Elyon Clinic uses the latest antiretroviral medications according to the most updated guidelines.

There are several ways to minimise your risk of contracting STDs.

What's New

Men’s health clinics, such as Elyon Clinic, often focus on conditions such as erectile dysfunction, prostate cancer, enlarged prostate, and low testosterone. Apart from sexual-related conditions, they also focus on other male-related health issues. Be sure to inquire about the range of services they provide.

Men’s health is a state of complete social, mental, and physical well-being that is not just the absence of diseases. Differences in men’s health as compared to their female counterparts can be attributed to social, behavioural, and biological factors.

The ten most common conditions among men are STD/HIV, influenza, cancer, COPD, liver disease, stroke, diabetes, and heart disease.

Men’s health starts to decline when they hit their 40s to 50s. Their bodies produce less testosterone, resulting in the loss of muscle mass and weight gain. In addition, their risk of developing diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease rises, too!

As a male health clinic, we see a lot of patients with erection-related conditions. Injuries can result in damage to the arteries or nerves that control our erections. Additionally, certain medications, such as high blood pressure medications, antihistamines, and antidepressants, can also affect the erection. Lastly, psychological conditions, such as depression, anxiety, or stress, play a significant role in poor erection.
