#Heavy_Lift Operation - Know your lifting gears Heavy lift operations are one of the critical operations that need a combination of knowledge and experience. The most primary and basic information that comes to mind when anyone talks about heavy #lifting tasks is the weight of the lifting object. How much weight to lift? Which is the primary information needed to initiate the planning. Other contributing factors for making a lifting plan include but not limited to Dimensions, Center of Gravity (#CoG), Lifting Point etc. This information was used to develop the lifting plan, and decide on the lifting crane specification and numbers, lifting gears became the most important element in the lifting operation. For a #Marine_Warranty #Surveyor or the Supercargo main challenge comes for the availability of the lifting gears. Weather the Working Load Limit (#WLL) of the lifting sling is sufficient to #lift the #cargo. https://lnkd.in/e2wvnkYH #Constellation_Marine_Surveyors #Independent_Surveyors #Project_cargo #Maritime #marine_survey #offshore #Warranty #marine_warranty_Surveying #Safety #CARGOSHIP #marine_surveyors

🚢 Beyond Buckets and Brushes: How Smart Systems Are Rewriting Cargo Hold Hygiene For decades, hold cleaning on bulk carriers has been stuck in a loop of hoses, chemicals, and manpower. It worked—but only just. As shipping faces rising operational pressures and tighter environmental oversight, a new mindset is taking root: clean smarter, not harder. Instead of treating cargo hold cleaning as a box to tick, forward-looking operators are turning it into a competitive advantage—by embracing automated surface-cleaning systems. Here’s what’s shifting↴ From Effort to Insight Modern cleaning tech adds data to the mix, capturing surface coverage, duration, and water usage and offering real-time visibility into every cleaning cycle. From Force to Finesse Automated systems don't just spray—they calibrate. Controlled movements and adjustable nozzles minimize waste while ensuring uniform coverage, even in complex geometries. From Crew-Heavy to Crew-Light By reducing manual input, ships can streamline operations, protect personnel, and reallocate skills to higher-priority tasks—without compromising standards. From Residue to Responsibility With fewer chemicals and more precise water use, ships are seeing measurable reductions in discharge volumes, helping meet stricter port-state controls and ESG targets. 📌A Mindset Shift Is Underway The future of maritime operations won’t just be faster or cheaper—it’ll be cleaner, safer, and data-informed. #maritime #robotics #logistics #shipping #safety #operations

Sea Bridge ≈ Flight Deck: Crisis-Time Navigation Recent crash of Flight AI 171—only 32 seconds from takeoff to catastrophe—reminds us how both mariners and pilots are tested by split‑second decisions under pressure . At sea, when waves crash against the hull and instruments go haywire, a ship’s captain must: • Interpret radar echoes and sonar returns, • Communicate clearly with the bridge team, • Choose between keeping course or launching evasive maneuvers. In the air, those 32 seconds featured pilots staring at warning lights, engine readings, flap and gear positions—all while troubleshooting in real-time. Hard call parallels: 1. No second chances – A delayed helm turn or hesitation on thrust reversers can be fatal. 2. Team synergy – Both bridges and cockpits demand razor-sharp coordination under stress. 3. Tech + Training – Whether it’s autopilot or auto-trim, tech aids us—but proper training makes us masters, not passengers. We may not yet know if it was engine failure, landing gear, bird strike, or configuration error . But one thing’s certain: in emergencies, professionals don’t wait—they act. To every navigator—on water or in the sky—here’s to training, focus, and the grit to make life-and-death decisions in seconds. 🌊✈ Stay sharp. Navigate well. #MaritimeLeadership #AviationSafety #CrisisManagement #SplitSecond #DecisionMaking #TrainingMatters
