Project Lightbulb!💡Organised by Heart of God Church and supported by Ministry of Social and Family Development, Singapore (MSF) to provide free tutoring to youths in the community. It goes with our heart to develop youths academically and holistically, in their studies, character and confidence!
About us
Heart of God Church (HOGC) started in 1999 as a divine experiment to build a prototype Youth Church. It was founded by Senior Pastors Tan Seow How (Pastor How) and Cecilia Chan (Pastor Lia), who in their mid-20s dreamt of building a church operated by youths, for youths, to reach youths. Today, HOGC has developed into a proof of concept that youths can build a STRONG CHURCH. Our vision is to raise up GenerationS of people who are willing to give God the best years of their lives. More than 20 years since HOGC started, the average age across the church is 22! It is a growing 5,000-member congregation of youths, young adults and families who call HOGC their home. Congratulations Jarren!! We are so proud of you! 👏
🎓 A decade ago, you must be joking if you told me that this boy whose report card was filled with C6, D7, E8 and F9s will be graduating from one of the top universities in the world with a scholarship. I was struggling in my final year of secondary school and unable to enter any junior college or a polytechnic course that I was interested in. Teachers put me on a 'black diamond programme' to monitor my performance closely. They believed I had some value, but I wasn't shining.. yet. I needed a miracle. Heart of God Church (Singapore) and its academic excellence program instilled in me a love for learning and helped me unlock my true potential. I encourage you all to check out the program at https://www.hogcae.com/. (Psst.. scroll down for a familiar face). Their dedication to nurturing youths is truly inspiring, and I am a living testament to its effectiveness. This program not only equipped me with the tools and skills necessary to excel academically but also instilled in me a love for learning for the past decade. My parents are so thankful for it too. I'm also grateful for the unwavering support from my parents all these years. They both loved and respected me, empowering and supporting every decision I made in this journey. Thank you for celebrating with me at every milestone up to now when I've started work. According to pops, it's 'payback time' 😅 Today, I'm filled with gratitude for everyone who has been a part of my journey, and for the support, love, and opportunities that have brought me to this moment. I'm ready to take on new challenges and make a positive impact in the world. Here's to the next chapter! #Graduation #Gratitude #Journey #NextChapter
