Driving the No. 27 PreFab Honda for Andretti INDYCAR, Kirkwood delivered a dominant performance, leading the team to its 16th win on the iconic Southern California street circuit. “Hats off to the No. 27 PreFab Honda team today. We had a really good qualifying, an awesome race and an amazing strategy. Execution all across the board is what won us the race – we controlled the race the whole time,” Kirkwood stated. 🌍 Mapei strengthens its industrial presence in North Africa, with the opening of a new production plant in Egypt, in Ramadan City, north-west of Cairo. This new investment confirms Mapei's long-term vision: to be a key player in the global development of the construction industry, focusing on innovation, quality, durability and local presence. The Italian Ambassador in Cairo, Michele Quaroni, speaking at the inauguration event, highlighted the importance of bilateral economic and trade relations between Italy and Egypt. "Egypt today represents a very promising market for the global construction industry," says Veronica Squinzi, CEO of Mapei. "With over 100 million inhabitants and a constant demographic growth, the country is experiencing a growing demand for residential construction, supported by strong government investment plans in infrastructure, hospitality and large-scale transport.“ Marco Squinzi, CEO of Mapei, added "The new plant is located in a strategic position near major logistic hubs. 🔵 Last week’s seminar, at the Università di Pavia, dedicated to the "Intervention strategies for the restoration and reinforcement of existing structures with composite materials" has been a true success! The engineers, architects and surveyors showed great interest about the interventions concerning the various types of composite materials (FRP, FRCM and CRM) to be used on different types of existing structures, and were thrilled to know more about how Mapei’s Structural Design Software could support them in the design process. The experimental tests on a vibrating table on the real-scale masonry bell tower (to test the resistance of anti-seismic structures and discover more about the reduction of seismic vulnerability), enriched by ISAAC antisismica and EUCENTRE intervention, were also extremely insightful and useful to get a more “hands-on” experience.
