Going Carbon Neutral is great if you want to do 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠. Think about it. 🤔 𝗤: What's the common factor in targets like Carbon Neutral and Net Zero? From Trash To Treasure, by Green Worms Our Impact Partner Green Worms has initiated an upcycling programme aimed at women in the local community of Kerala, India. This programme is dedicated to giving new life to non-recyclable plastics, materials that could otherwise contribute to environmental degradation. The upcycling program has been a success so far! It doesn’t only give another life to plastic waste but it empowers local women to feel like true entrepreneurs. From Trash to Treasure is a story of hope. Green Worms empowers women to turn plastic waste into valuable creations through training, guidance, and collaboration. Four years ago, I partnered with Dr. Simon JD Schillebeeckx and Ryan Merrill PhD to create Handprint. At the time, they were writing a paper commissioned by the UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and DBS Bank: "Sustainable Digital Finance in Asia: Creating Environmental Impact through Bank Transformation" Focusing on how to use new digital technologies to benefit Nature. 🤯 I was amazed by their research. "How to transform the global economy into an engine for good, that restores Nature rather than destroying it?" Such a fascinating perspective for the engineer that I was. 🤝 We shook hands and started working on this. How to enable this transformation, from an extractive to a regenerative economy? There are thousands of complex problems to solve to get there. We picked one.
