National Gallery Singapore is a leading visual arts institution and the largest modern and contemporary art museum in Southeast Asia. Situated in the heart of Singapore’s Civic District, it is housed in two national monuments—City Hall and the former Supreme Court. The Gallery also collaborates with leading international museums—including Centre Pompidou, Musée d’Orsay, Tate Britain, the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo (MOMAT), and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA)—to showcase Southeast Asian art on the world stage. These partnerships position Singapore as an important hub in the global visual arts landscape.

Consistently ranked among Asia’s top 10 most visited museums by The Art Newspaper since 2019, the Gallery continues to gain international and local recognition. In 2020, it was the only museum in Southeast Asia to feature in the publication’s global attendance survey, placing 20th worldwide. It was also the first in Asia to receive the Children in Museums Award from the European Museum Academy and Hands On! International Association of Children in Museums.

Locally, the Gallery has been honoured at the Singapore Tourism Awards for major initiatives such as the Light to Night Festival and Gallery Children’s Biennale, alongside accolades for “Best Attraction Experience,” “Breakthrough Contribution to Tourism,” and “Best Customer Service (Attractions).” It has also received the TTG Travel Award for “Best Theme Attraction,” cementing its role as a leading cultural destination.
