Plant Engineering Design focuses from conceptual to detailed engineering, procurement, and construction supervision and commissioning. Currently, this division is servicing clients from a variety of industries including; oil/gas, water/waste-water, renewable energy and general manufacturing. We also assist these clients to procure equipment given our long standing honoured relationships with key equipment/instrument suppliers thus enabling us to pass on these savings. Further to the equipment price advantages gained, by procuring for our clients, we ensure the most appropriate level of equipment and quality is procured to fit the project and its designed life span, we refer to this as “fit for purpose”. During the construction phase our engineers attend site to ensure full representation of the design and its implementation including commissioning and hand over. Currently, Jimmy Lea Chartered Engineering is servicing clients in Australia and South East Asia.
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) focuses on high performance computing which is generally known as CFD. Our capabilities include having perpetual licences for the most advance CFD software ANSYS Fluent and all CFD projects are currently only delivered by PhD qualified engineers highly trained in CFD. To date, we have a combined experience of over 45 years. Currently, our CFD division is providing services to clients globally. The CFD reports submitted to our clients to date have proven to be of immense value. Such reports have negated our clients risk, reduce costs and ensured a “first time right” build. The engagement of our CFD engineering specialists as an integral part of the client’s team is essential, full collaboration maximises time saves costs and delivers the ideal design configuration. It is within our interest to assist our client incurring project losses due to design failure. Modular Design & Fabrication focuses on design and fabrication of skid-mounted units and 20 to 40-foot containerised units at our state-of-the-art facilities. Our modular assembly includes installation of steel structure, equipment, pipe & fittings, instrument, PLC cabinet, electrical wiring & junctional box and insulation. Prior to delivery, we perform factory commissioning and acceptance testing. Engaging us to fabricate these units mean reducing on-site erection and installation time, thus minimising site disruption; minimising requirements for highly skilled labour onsite, lowering overall investment cost as compared to the traditional ‘stick built’ construction and minimising the number of interfaces as responsibility rests with us.
Research & Process Development focuses on contract R&D activities, R&D of novel technologies including development of Sustainable Technologies, process development according to client's immediate requirements, scale up from bench-scale to pilot-plant, construction and operation of pilot-plants to obtain evidence-based results, perform multivariable interaction analysis using DOE, CFD result validations using technology such as Particle Image Velocimetry, verifications of published research results, writing of academic or trade journals on behalf of the clients, presentation of research results on behalf of the clients, researching, industry matching and process redesigning toward Circular Economy.
